Mother makes the back bed plain, just to have a splendid time of rest. You give the pleasing part of your breast in the name of having sound in brain. You never fall out of love, mother of the fathers. You blow with your mouth, the flem of my nose, to having a breathe of life. When I'm sick, you are dying When I worship the porcelain god, you clean away  the dirty stains, as happy as a sand boy, then you are as happy as a lark. You make me live beyond my means, antagonist of bad tongue, not a wet blanket. The backbone, you take to arms for my comfort. Many moons ago, you walk on water, you almost go a moonlight fit. Just to have the world at my feet, Thanks for giving me fuel. Oh Mother! I promise to be above board, Mother of sons Pin your hope on me, for I'm ready to g

To cut your risk of this vision loss, researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School have found three vitamins that can boost eye health. In a study of more than 5,000 women age 40 and older, the scientists found that a combination of vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid appears to decrease the risk of AMD. “(Our) trial findings reported herein are the strongest evidence to date in support of a possible beneficial effect of folic acid and B vitamin supplements in AMD prevention,” the researchers report. To benefit from the B vitamins, you have to take them for years. In Nigeria, hunger has being the word for  days, hunger is everywhere in Nigeria regardless of how civilized the area is, wether urban or rural area. Hunger has no limit, regard,or respect for anybody, no matter the person's status in life. No man in this world ever desire the visitation of hunger, but yet it will make way into man. In our society today, we are quick to believe someone cannot be a hunger victim, because of his material acquisitions. I knew of a family, the father struggles in France while his nuclear family is based in Nigeria. Many people  believed so far the father stays in France, the family is okay and well to do, whereas the family is bitterly and silently crying everyday in the corner of their room just to get to bread to eat. In recent research, compelling desire for food has become rampant and it is fast getting out of hand in our society. The rate at which people die of hunger is getting out of hand and uncontrollable. AFOUDA HUNGER INITIATIVE is saying,

Lionel Messi Wants To End Career at Barcelona

Image
FC Barcelona’s Argentina forward Lionel Messi says he will like to remain with the club for the remainder of his career. “It’s what I have always dreamt of and what I always wanted,” the 29-year-old said. Messi joined FC Barcelona at the age of 13 and made his first team debut at 17. He has since scored more than 500 goals for the club. The Argentine has won the La Liga eight times with Barca, the UEFA Champions League four times and Ballon d’Or world player of the year title five times. Last season under coach Luis Enrique, FC Barcelona were second in La Liga, three points behind champions Real Madrid. They lost 0-3 on aggregate in the Champions League quarter-finals to eventual beaten finalists Juventus. Enrique had announced in March that he would leave the club in the summer after three years in charge. His final match saw Barca capture the Copa del Rey trophy, with Messi scoring the opening goal as they beat Alaves 3-0 to win the competition for a third successive season.

Report: Ahmed Musa 'agrees' to join Fenerbache

Image
Ahmed Musa has reportedly agreed in principle to sign a deal with Fenerbahce and is expected to complete a £17.4m move from Leicester to the Turkish club. Fernabache are believed to have started negotiations with Leicester over a potential deal,  according to Turkish newspaper Gunes . The striker is said to have given a green light to the deal after being asked if he would be happy to join Fenerbahçe, who finished third in the Super Lig last season. If he moves to the Turkish side, it would bring to an end an underwhelming stint at Leicester after struggling to make an impact following a £15million move from CSKA Moscow last summer. The 24-year-old scored just four goals in 31 appearances for Leicester City last season. Two of the goals came in the FA Cup win against Everton. Musa played just 11 mins in the Foxes last seven Premier League games of the season.

Leicester name Shakespeare as Coach

Image
Craig Shakespeare Leicester City have named caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare as their permanent manager on a three-year deal. The 53-year-old was given the job on a temporary basis in February, following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri. Shakespeare, who has only worked as caretaker or number two, was Ranieri’s assistant after joining the club under former Foxes boss Nigel Pearson. “This is a really exciting opportunity for me to continue along this new path in my career,” said Shakespeare. “Our preparations for pre-season and the new Premier League campaign have been ongoing for some time, but we can now move on with certainty and ensure we are well equipped to compete at the levels now expected of a club like Leicester City.” Shakespeare won eight of his 16 games in charge last season, leading the club to the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Fall Of Buhari and APC

Image
I extend to President Muhammadu Buhari my warmest sympathies on his sick bed. It is a measure of the fragility of our democracy that an elected President insists on hiding his frailty from the people who are compelled to pay for his treatment abroad.  There is no hiding place in the constitution. Nonetheless, President Buhari is scheduled to return to Nigeria tomorrow.  He will be welcomed with at least one Lagos street protest that the police are trying to muzzle.  That would be another self-inflicted injury, and I urge Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to tell them to back off and go pursue Lagos’ many criminals. I reiterate that it is a shame and an embarrassment that despite Mr. Buhari’s promises and posturing for many years, he sees no irony in running off to the United Kingdom for his medical needs, leaving behind the nation’s most expensive (and presumably best-equipped) publicly-funded clinic in the presidential palace. This fact underlines a broader reality.  Which is that

Metuh knocks reps over rejection of South East Development Bill - Tribune

Image
Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh FORMER National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, has said that the rejection by the House of Representatives of the Bill for Establishment of South East Development Commission does not demonstrate the desired spirit of national accommodation and sensitivity towards the people and problems of the South East zone. Metuh said this on Sunday through a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen, just as he commended the South East caucus of the National Assembly for bringing the needs of the region to the front burner. According to him, it is also heart-warming to note that a good number of lawmakers from other geo-political zones supported the bill, describing the gesture as a “laudable act, showing that other regions are beginning to appreciate the issues related to the developmental predicaments of the South-East.” The former PDP p

Poetry; Someone Is Hungry

At my tender age, empty stomach has been the watchword, nothing to feed on let alone chew. Within me are sorrows and bitterness of hunger. Appraising the two years of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, APC spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi told newsmen at the weekend that the present administration has delivered, substantially, on its promise to the electorate. The former Minister of Sports and Youth Development enunciated the fight against insurgency and crusade against corruption, as enviable achievements of the present administration. The US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Stuart Symington, has said that the Executive Orders signed recently by US President Donald Trump, does not significantly affect Nigerians who want to visit the US, pointing out that deserving Nigerians will be issued visas to visit the US. He spoke at a press briefing in Abuja last week, to explain the importance of Trump's Executive Order and how it affects Nigeria and Nigerians. The Executive Order, which temporarily banned nationals of some dominant Muslim countries, has since been stood down by the US Appeals Court. According to Amb. Symington, "Security is not the job of only one country. Let me reassure Nigerians that every single action the U.S. takes would be based on legality and due process. Protecting America from terrorists would not affect the two year visa validity policy currently enjoyed by Nigerians or cause them to be discriminated against based on their religion" Recognizing that the United States is a nation of im

FA Cup Final Moses: We’Ll Stop Arsenal

Image
Victor Moses says Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Arsenal eight months ago remains fresh in the minds of the players, but is confident Antonio Conte’s winning 3-4-3 formula will see the Blues win the FA Cup today at Wembley The Gunners inflicted a heavy defeat on the Blues side at the Emirates Stadium last September when first-half goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil stunned the eventual Premier League champions. Such was Arsenal’s dominance in the first 45 minutes of the Premier League game that Conte reacted by switching to a 3-4-3 set-up for the second half as Blues shut out the Gunners. The defeat rounded off a disappointing month for Chelsea following the 2-2 draw away to Swansea and the 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool earlier in September. But it would prove the key moment in the season as Conte kept faith with the 3-4-3 formation for the trip to Hull the following week as Chelsea embarked on a 13-game winning streak in the league. Indeed, Conte admitted recently the

Hillary Clinton Used Her College Commencement Speech To Extensively Troll Trump

Image
Hillary Clinton gave the commencement address at her alma mater, Wellesley College, on Friday afternoon, delivering the most extended and blistering attack on President Donald Trump since her loss in the 2016 election. At the crux of Clinton's speech was a call to arms to the graduating class at the women's college, encouraging them to get politically engaged and to "advance the struggle for equality, justice, and freedom. But she peppered the speech with a series of strongly-worded criticisms of the Trump administration's conduct and policies, attacking its use of the term "alternative facts," its boasting about the size of the crowds at Trump's inauguration, its proposed budget, and Trump's use of the phrase "nasty woman" to refer to her in a debate. Clinton warned the students that they're "graduating at at time when there is a full-fledged assault on truth and reason." "When people in power invent their own facts a

Mkhitaryan makes United history

Image
Henrikh Mkhitaryan made history for Manchester United with his UEFA Europa League final goal against Ajax. The second strike of United's 2-0 win in Stockholm, expertly hooked home by the Armenian from Chris Smalling's downward header following a corner, made him the only man ever to score in five different European games on the road for the Reds in a single campaign. He had previously found the net in four away fixtures, against Zorya Luhansk, Saint-Etienne, Rostov and Anderlecht, in addition to also scoring in the home leg against Anderlecht. Mkhitaryan, who has netted 11 times in all competitions during this debut season with United, thanked his team-mates when speaking to BT Sport: "Without them, I couldn’t score many goals. "I’m really happy that I scored today in the final because everyone kept saying ‘you’re going to score in the final’. After the last game, when we played against Celta Vigo in the second leg, I was dreaming every day that I would score in t

Mourinho Speaks on United's Summer Transfers

Image
Ed Woodward has had my list, what I want, what I would like, for more than two months. So now it's up to him and the owners. I wish Mr Woodward all the success in his work because now it’s time for me to disconnect, because I’m very tired. I am going to land in Manchester, I am going to get a car to London, then to Portugal. I don't care about football for now. Now I am on holiday. I don't want to see any international friendlies, I am selfish. I can't do it. For me, enough is enough. It has been a very hard last few months, we were short of numbers. But with three trophies in one season and [qualifying for] the Champions League, I am very happy in my most difficult season as a manager."

Image
Jose Mourinho ended his first season in charge of Manchester United by winning the UEFA Europa League final at the Friends Arena in Stockholm and claiming his third trophy at the club. Here are the main points from his post-match interviews with MUTV and BT Sport... OVERALL THOUGHTS "My thoughts are obviously with the victims of the tragedy in Manchester and with the families. The tragedy is in my mind. Maybe this victory will bring some happiness to Manchester, I don't know. I would obviously, me and everyone else, we would change this trophy for the people that lost their lives, that's obvious. But if I focus on the football side, I am really proud." TEAM PERFORMANCE "The team was fantastic from the first minute to the last minute. It was a fantastic collective performance, there were very good individual performances and we had total control of the game. We always thought that we could win the Europa League and we are very happy. We played intelligently

United Now With All Trophies In The World.

We were not strong enough to win the Premier League but we were strong enough to win the Europa League and we are back in the Champions League. The club now has every trophy in world football. We fought hard for this since the beginning. We totally deserved the win. I am so happy to see all the players, including the boys with the crutches, with the trophy." THREE TROPHIES OUT OF FIVE THIS SEASON  "And 64 matches out of 66 possible, which is incredible. I am very happy and I thank everyone that had a contribution for that, and I’m not speaking just about the players. Many other staff. The work they did to organise everything for us, for our families, to come to this important match with a short period of time, the way people dedicate themselves to that, to try to have our heads clean and focused and everything was perfect. So I thank everyone

Poetry; JOY WITHIN

Image
JOY WITHIN My eyes are said to be fruit, surrounded by the heavenly angels, happy are thy moment. Silently, I observes my feet and the movement of my hands. Overwhelm with gladness and positivity. The joy of salvation within. I'm wreck with gallery of stars. Dead men don't bite, yet I'm feared. My slow and steady wins the race, the silence in me, laughs like a monkey, My works are always on the crest of a wave. A succeeded success, block buster himself. I clean away the river flow of tears, neighbours are alive when I lights. Waking the dead is my hobby, taming the lion is my habit. I brings to life, the ago dead bone of my mates, enslave under joy of all days. Come! Come!! Laugh! Laugh!! the golden future awaits, Tick! Tock!! the time dictates the future, all eyes are on me, the cat that send forth the rat. To my neighbours, I know my thoughts, thought of evil makes no way, On the quiet, I'm pissing in the wind. Pluck up your courage,

Rwanda’s telecom industry regulator has fined MTN Rwanda, a division of South Africa’s MTN Group, 7 billion francs (8.5 million dollars) for running its IT services outside the country in breach of its licence. The regulator said in a ruling posted on its website in Kigali that MTN Rwanda was hosting its IT services hub in Uganda, which it had prohibited. “They are punished for relocating their IT services outside Rwanda, and this was deliberate,’’ Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority Spokesman Anthony Kulamba said. MTN Group said it had also received a notification about the fine. “MTN has been engaging with the regulator on this matter over the past four months. “MTN Rwanda is currently studying the official notification and will continue to engage with the regulator on this matter,” it said in a statement. In 2016, the company, which operates in 20 countries, set aside 600 million dollars to pay a fine imposed by the Nigerian government through the Nigerian Communications Co

Ander Herrera has capped a fine third season for Manchester United by winning the club’s prestigious Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award. The midfielder topped the closest-ever poll for this prize, finishing just 242 votes ahead of Antonio Valencia, with top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic not much further behind in a three-way contest that went right down to the wire and reflected the superb contributions of those players in 2016/17. Operating in a deeper role in Jose Mourinho’s midfield, Herrera’s whole-hearted, all-action displays have won him many admirers and he’s just one appearance shy of a half-century for the season.  The 27-year-old, who also made his senior international debut for Spain in November, succeeds compatriot and friend David De Gea, the winner of our coveted accolade for the previous three seasons. "It’s very special for me to win this award because when you see the list of winners, you realise how important it is," said Herrera after collecting his aw

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and other top Youruba leaders in the party are crying over the treatment being meted out to Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo and the southwest region in general by the “cabal”. He also lambasted Igbos who joined the APC, saying Buhari hated and had nothing to offer them. In a statement Thursday night, Fani-Kayode said “it is only now that the Yoruba wing of the APC are really getting to know him and his evil cabal and they are all crying behind closed doors. They regret supporting them during the 2015 election deeply. “Any Igbo person in the APC needs to have his or her head examined. Such a person is a confused soul who has been conned and who has sold his soul to an Igbo hater, a radical islamist, an ethnic supremacist, a religious bigot and a racist. “You say he chose an Igbo man as his running mate in the past and my answer is so what? He did so because he was looking for v
