Dino Melaye Mocks Suspended Babachir Lawal

Senator Dino Melaye has laughed at Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, over his suspension. President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process by Lawal, with regard to the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). Melaye took to his Twitter account, to post a written version of his now viral song “Ajeku Iya”, clearly mentioning Lawal’s name in the tweet. It read: “Babachir Lawal. Aje ku iya nio je. Eni tio toni na ton dena deni, aje ku iya nio je. Ntoooooo.” The Senator Shehu Sani-led ad-hoc committee investigated the mismanagement and diversion of IDP funds and a company allegedly owned by Lawal was found to have been awarded a grass-clearing contract worth about N200million. Abia Residents Apprehend Son Who Beheaded His Mother

The residents of the Umuchagu Osokwa community in Osisisoma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State, have arrested a middle-aged man, identified as Christopher Nwajei, who beheaded his mother in the area. It was gathered that the suspect who is an apprentice welder, had on March 29, beheaded his mother, Cecilia, while she was preparing dinner at about 7.30p.m., on returning from the farm. The assailant reportedly collected some of her mother’s blood and fled the community. While speaking to a correspondent, a resident of the community, disclosed that the suspect was arrested in a bush on the outskirts of the community by a search party before he was handed over to police. Nwajei, who blamed the devil for the action, confessed to have beheaded his mother because she told him that he is not a native of the Umuchagu Osokwa village. APC strategises ahead of Anambra governorship poll

Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a seven– member planning and strategy committee. The committee was chaired by a former Governor of old Anambra State, Dr. Jim Nwobodo, while a former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu would serve as Vice Chairman. Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel has paid tribute to ex-Chelsea teammate John Terry following an announcement on Easter Monday that he'll leave The Blues at the end of the 2016-2017 season. Mikel spent ten and a half years with Terry at Chelsea before the midfielder moved to Chinese club Tianjin Teda in the January transfer window. A member of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Timi Frank, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack appointees, including cabinet members, who had brought the Federal Government to disrepute. He said this on Wednesday in Abuja, while reacting to the suspension of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Babachir Lawal by the president and the Director-General of National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ayo Oke.
